3.1 The GenerateDTMFTone command.
Description:
This allows the host to generate a DTMF tone (including the extended tones) to be made by the
CHIPSET corresponding to the code given by the host. In addition, the gain can also be set (16
levels).
During the generation of a DTMF tone, the host can continue monitoring the telephone line
using the
MonitorLine
command to check the line status.
The
Idle
command stops the generation of a DTMF tone immediately. It’s however not
necessary to go first into idle mode to generate a different DTMF tone. The
GenerateDTMFTone
command can be issued anytime, generating the same or a different tone.
In addition, this command only has to be sent once after which the chipset emits the DTMF tone
until it receives the
Idle
command.

General remark:
Using the
GenerateDTMFTone
command will overwrite the tone parameters inside the
CHIPSET with could have been set by the
GenerateTone
command before!
