0.4 The SetLoopBack command.
Description:
The above information is the exclusive intellectual property of Winbond Electronics and shall not be
disclosed, or reproduced without permission from Winbond.
The
SetLoopBack
command allows the host to command the CHIPSET to send the samples of
the A/D converter directly back to the D/A converter. This command can be useful for call
screening.
After this command, any other command can be issued. The host is responsible to switch off the
loop back when it’s not necessary anymore.
Remark:
in this mode, the digital AGC has no effect. The interrupt routine simply copies what
is presented at the input of the CODEC back to the output of the CODEC.
As a second function, the
SetLoopBack
command allows you to change the volume setting (even
when call screening is not active) to one of the eight possible settings (in steps of 3 dB). This also
allows the volume to be changed during call screening.

= 1 bit indicating to switch the loop back feature on or off. When switched on the interrupt routine
will automatically copy the input of the CODEC to the output of the CODEC, even in idle mode!
0 = loop back (call screening) off.
1 = loop back (call screening) on.
VolLevel
= 3 bits specifying the VolLevel (in 3 dB steps) during playback. Eight volume levels are
possible in this way.
