Skip messages:
The CHIPSET takes care of all message handling. This reduces drastically the burden of message
handling on the host controller. However, if you want to do some message management by yourself, you
can use the information returned by the following two commands:
1. The
StatusOfMessage
command (to retrieve the message id of the current message of the requested
type).
2. The
GetMailbox
command (to retrieve the total number of messages of the requested type in the
currently selected mailbox).
To move to another message, you have to use the
ChangeMessagePtr
command with your preferred
arguments. Remark that when you want to move from one message to another you must be in the
Idle
mode, by sending the
Idle
command first. This means that you must stop the current playback, skip to the
required message, and then start the playback for the new message.
If there is just one message in the current mailbox, the returned result after a
ChangeMessagePtr
command could take two different values depending on the specified step parameter:
First message (by skipping to the previous message)
Last message (by skipping to the next message)
